Assistant Nurse

Job Summary: The Assistant Nurse provides essential support to registered nurses and other healthcare professionals in delivering high-quality patient care. The role involves assisting patients with daily living activities, monitoring vital signs, maintaining hygiene, and ensuring a clean and safe healthcare environment.

Key Responsibilities: a. Assist patients with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, eating, and mobility. b. Take and record patients’ vital signs (temperature, pulse, respiration, and blood pressure). c. Help nurses with basic medical procedures and documentation. d. Maintain cleanliness of patient rooms, equipment, and work areas. e. Monitor patients’ conditions and promptly report any changes to supervising nurses. f. Support the emotional and physical comfort of patients. g. Prepare medical equipment and ensure supplies are stocked. h. Escort patients to different hospital departments when required. i. Follow infection control and hospital safety protocols at all times.

Qualifications and Skills: i. Certificate in Nursing Assistant or Auxiliary Nursing (recognized institution). ii. Previous experience in a healthcare or hospital setting is an advantage. iii. Knowledge of basic nursing procedures and patient care iv. Compassionate, patient, and attentive to detail. v. Good communication and interpersonal skills. vi. Ability to work under supervision and as part of a healthcare team. vii. Physically fit and able to assist patients with mobility or lifting when necessary.
